The Raider is slightly smaller than the Patrol coming in at about 36 liters (vs the approx. 42 liters of the Patrol Pack) and it incorporates two zippered pouches (approx. 1 liter each) on the front panel instead of two buckled pouches. These zippered pouches are stacked one above the other (vs. the side-by-side arrangement of the buckled pouches of the Patrol Pack). The Raider offers fantastic capability for a 2-day "assault" pack. The outside side pouches are the same as on the Patrol Pack but slightly smaller. (A Grayl GeoPress will still fit into the side pouches.) The pockets on the lid are the same as on the Patrol Pack. We eliminated the (orange) front pocket on the inside of the main compartment due to the main compartment's reduced size but the inside left, right, and back pockets remain the same. We rate the Raider as a solid 2-day to 3-day pack, but it can easily stretch beyond that. The Raider, like the Patrol, is AWESOME! Limited quantities available - green and red only at this time.
The Raider is made by our own fabulous specialized crew in Colombia, S.A. - the same fine folks who are making the legendary Becker Patrol Packs. The Raider utilizes the same materials and hardware and it is also built "jungle tough"!
The Raider weighs a bit less than the Patrol coming in right at 5.0 lbs / 2.27 Kg all-up. (Note that an issue medium ALICE pack with frame, waist belt, and shoulder straps weighs 6 lbs 2 oz on our calibrated scale.) The Raider’s capacity is right at 36 liters (vs the 42 liters of the Patrol Pack).
